So, I have been working on a post in my head about how weird it is to open packed boxes. To be fair, the summer we moved from Colorado to Virginia, I was not only pregnant but finishing grad school. C did most of the unpacking, and some boxes were simply never addressed. Or, as I posted on Facebook, they were given weird labels like "Little used kitchen, do not open". Sigh. My mission this round has been to open every single box, and look our junk in the eye, then dispose appropriately of some of it. Although this task is not complete (or even all that close), I must show you a couple of items: From somewhere else, this set of photos surfaced. We are stunned. We did these on our first anniversary at the BX in Las Vegas where we were for a wedding. I swear to you that while I had lots of romantic plans for the photos, I never saw them again after we took them from the photo booth. So, did the universe just cough them up onto my counter? This is the top of the "Little Used Kitchen" box. Hum. Note the long lost bike helmet, the bag of wiring that is up to code for finishing one's basement, the lampholder (but only one), and the bottom layer is actually a set of random wildlife and Bugs Bunny prints. Beneath that was a brief case. C said, "Oh, that must be the briefcase where I have the gun safe combo." It wasn't.
But, below that, as I predicted was the FRY DADDY. The fry daddy we had a huge, huge fight about in the first two months of our marriage. The fry daddy C could not part with, and swore we'd be wanting. And, an angel food cake pan. Thus, I was right about the box contents. Fry daddy or no, I am always glad to be right. (The fate of said fry daddy remains to be seen).
haha-in preparation of a possible second fry daddy argument the universe was reminding you how much you lurv each other ;)

I agree with Marie. The Universe was trying to make you smile in the midst of trying times... :)

Those are great pictures!
I'm not as surprised now by the contents of the boxes as I was the first few moves, but inevitably something weird gets coughed up. I'm hoping this time it is our White Mountain ice cream maker, which has been missing for three years : (
And, I don't know what a keyless porcelain lampholder is. Is it better than a keyed porcelain lampholder? Is there such a thing?

Those are fabulous pictures, it is so fun that you found them after all this time. I found a strip of photo booth pictures from when Dean and I first moved back to Newfoundland from New Orleans (I had used it as a bookmark, and in the finished book it stayed for the next 6 years).
Dean's workplace sent a company to pack our things for us last time, so opening the boxes was a huge surprise. I'm glad to hear you are tackling it though, it must mean you are settling in some :)
